TEMPLE'S JOHN QUIGLEY NAMED A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Quigley, a center fielder, had 13 hits for the week in 25 plate appearances with five doubles and two home runs. In addition, Quigley drove in 12 runs. In A-10 Conference play, Quigley collected five hits in 10 at-bats in Temple's three-game sweep of La Salle over the weekend. Included in the weekend series was a six RBI performance in the Owls' 9-8 win on Saturday in which he bashed a grand slam and two-run homer.
This season, Quigley has a .299 batting average, a .382 on base percentage and a .575 slugging percentage playing in 24 games (23 starts). Quigley is second on the team in runs batted in with 21 and is tied for the lead in doubles with nine.
Temple (11-13, 5-4) is currently in second place in the eastern division of the Atlantic 10 Conference, one-half game behind St. Bonaventure. The Owls travel to Lawrenceville, New Jersey on Thursday (4/11) to take on Rider at 3:00 p.m. and then head to Olean, New York for a big thre-game conference showdown with the Bonnies this weekend.
