TEMPLE OWLS SET TO DEFEND BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The No. 4 seeded Owls take on No. 5 Xavier at 12:30 p.m. at Dodd Memorial Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut.
With a victory over Xavier, the Owls would advance to take on No. 1 seed Richmond (46-8, 22-2) on Friday at 12:30 p.m. Should the Owls lose to Xavier, they would play the loser of the game between No. 3 George Washington (37-19, 17-7) and No. 6 Dayton (31-19, 14-10) Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.
The six team field will be narrowed down to two this weekend, with the remaining teams to play a three-game series for the conference championship the following weekend (May 23-26) at the highest seeded teams home field.
Wilson is now in his 43rd season as the Owls skipper with an overall record of 972-736-27 (.569). At the start of the 2002 season, Wilson's 952 victories ranked him 18th among active NCAA Division I coaches and 26th among the all-time winningest coaches. During his tenure, the Owls have won 10 conference championships and played in the College World Series two times, finishing third in 1972. He is the winingest coach in Temple University history.
