Freshman Mike Weckenman capped off a solid rookie season for Head Coach Skip Wilson and the Temple Owls by being named to the Alantic 10 Conference All-Tournament Team.

Weckenman had six hits in 12 plate appearances in Norwich, Connecticut, where the Owls went 2-2 in tournament play, eventually eliminated by St. Bonaventure, 5-2 after winning two games against Xavier and losing a 5-3 heartbreaker to eventual runner-up, Richmond.

In addition, Weckenman had a big two-out single that plated two Owl teammates in their opening round 5-3 win against Xavier.

Weckenman hit .250 for the Owls in his freshman season, with 44 hits in 176 plate appearances. The lanky 6'4" Newtown, Pennsylvania native played most of the regular season at shortstop before moving to his natural position, third base, once Jason Connor returned to the lineup after an injury.

Atlantic 10 Champion George Washington had five players named to the All-Tournament team, including Mike Bassett, who was named the Most Outstanding Player. Joining Bassett on the All-Tournament team were teammates Jeff Fertitta, Joe Michalski, Justin Orenduff, and Jake Wald; Richmond's Thomas Martin, David Reaver, Tim Stauffer, Adam Tiball; Kevin Ryan of St. Bonaventure; Adam Jahnsen of Richmond and Temple's Weckenman.
