Another Strong Season for Men's Crew

6.10.02 | Men's Crew

The Temple University men's crew added another strong season to the record book in 2002. Although the varsity 8 was edged by Dowling in the Dad Vail Regatta, it finished in the top five in all but two of its races. The varsity 8 placed first at the Braxton Regatta, the George Washington Crew Classic, the Murphy Cup Regatta and the Georgetown Invitational. At the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships, the Owls placed fourth in the petite finals.

The varsity four had an equally good year that included first place finishes at the Navy Day Regatta, the Princeton Chase, the Frostbite Regatta, the Murphy Cup Regatta and the Georgetown Invitational.

Other highlights for the men's crew included a first place finish for the freshman 4 at the IRA Regatta, a first place finish for the novice 8 at the Dad Vail Regatta and a first place finish for the novice four at the Murphy Cup Regatta.
