XU YUN NAMED ATLANTIC 10 VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA -- Junior outside hitter Xu Yun of the Temple University volleyball team (11-5, 3-0 A-10) was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the week ending September 29, 2002.

The China native helped Temple go 3-0 last week to open the Atlantic 10 portion of their schedule. She posted three consecutive double-double performances while averaging 4.5 kills and 3.4 digs per game with a .397 hitting percentage.

In the Owls game against La Salle on 9/24, Yun had 16 kills and 12 digs and in their games against Fordham (9/27) and Rhode Island (9/27) she posted 19 kills and 19 digs in each game.

Temple volleyball is on the road this weekend to face Duquesne on October 4 and George Washington on October 5. Match times are 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
