MAJEWSKA POWERS VOLLEYBALL PAST RHODE ISLAND, 3-1

Kingston, R.I. - The Temple volleyball team got back on the winning track with a three games to one victory over Rhode Island on October 10 at the Ryan Center. The game scores were 25-30, 30-26, 30-21 and 30-16.

Senior outside hitter Margaret Majewska led the Owls with a match-high 15 kills and added 16 digs for a double-double. Majewska, who hit .393 for the match, also had seven blocks for Temple. Junior outside hitter Liu Zhen Jai also posted a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs. Junior setter Alison Runk had a match-high 42 assists for the Owls.

Amy Kauppila and Atlee Hubbard led Rhode Island with 11 kills apiece. Kaupppila also had 14 digs for the Rams' lone double-double. Marie Rolfe (17 assists) and Mary Kate Reardon (14 assists) shared the setting duties for Rhode Island.

As a team, the Owls out-hit the Rams .180 to .036. Rhode Island fell to 7-12 overall and 2-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Temple, which improved to 6-7 overall and 3-1 in conference play, continues its back to back Rams road trip on Saturday, October 11 when it visits the Fordham Rams. Match time is 4:00 p.m.
