OWLS SWEEP EXPLORERS, 3-0 IN VOLLEYBALL

In a match where 12 Temple players saw action, senior outside hitter Xu Yun led the Owls with nine kills. Fellow senior Yamit Haba had eight kills and 11 digs while senior Margaret Majewska and sophomore Stephanie Buynovsky added seven kills apiece. Majewska also had 10 digs. Junior setter Alison Runk dished out a match-high 37 assists.
Lauren Woods and Caitlin DeJong led La Salle with nine kills each. Setter Caitlin Conner had 26 assists for the Explorers.
As a team, Temple out-hit La Salle .320 to .037. The Owls improved to 11-7 overall and 7-1 in conference play. The Explorers fell to 8-19 overall and remained winless (0-8) in Atlantic 10 action.
Temple will next host Xavier on Thursday, October 30 at McGonigle Hall. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
