VOLLEYBALL DUKES IT OUT WITH DUQUESNE AND COMES AWAY WITH A 3-1 WIN

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Temple volleyball team extended its match win streak to 13 win a three games to one victory over Duquesne at the A.J. Palumbo Center on November 14. The game scores were 30-22, 21-30, 30-28 and 30-23. Temple has now won 18 of its last 20 matches.

Senior outside hitter Liu Shu led the Owls with a match-high 23 kills and hit .465. Fellow seniors Xu Yun (16 kills, 15 digs) and Charity Hill (13 kills) also had double digit kill numbers for Temple. Junior setter Alison Runk dished out a match-high 63 assists.

Sarah Morrow (13 kills, 11 digs) led a balanced attack for Duquesne. Diana Wuebker (12 kills), Stephanie Hopkins (12 kills, 11 digs) and Ashley Macko (11 kills) also reached double figures in kills for the Dukes. Srash Brown (23 assists) and Avery Dunn (24 assists) shared time at the setter position for Duquesne.

Temple, which improved to 18-7 overall and 12-1 in Atlantic 10 play out-hit Duquesne .273 to .217. The Dukes fell to 12-17 overall and 5-8 in the A-10. The Owls will travel to George Washington and face the Colonials on November 15 in their final game prior to the start of the Atlantic 10 Tournament. Match time is 4:00 p.m.
