RUNK EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT ATLANTIC 10 VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE YEAR HONOR

PHILADELPHIA - Junior setter Alison Runk was named 2003 Atlantic 10 Setter of the Year on November 20. Runk, who also won the honor in 2002, led the conference in assists (12.73 apg) and ranked second in service aces (46).

Runk helped lead the Owls (19-7, 13-1 A-10) to their second consecutive Atlantic 10 regular season title. Temple will defend its A-10 Tournament crown beginning Friday, November 21 at McGonigle Hall. Joining Runk on the all-conference team were senior outside hitters Yamit Haba and Xu Yun. Yun was fourth in the conference in kills per game at 3.76 while Haba was fifth (3.73 kpg.).

Dayton's Erin Treadway was the A-10 Player of the Year, Fay Barhorst, also of Dayton was the Rookie of the Year and Xavier's Floyd Deaton walked away with Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year honors.
