Senior outside hitter Yamit Haba, the reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, led the Owls with 13 kills and hit .458. Fellow seniors Liu Shu (11 kills, 11 digs, .450 hitting percentage) and Xu Yun (10 kills) also had double-digit kill numbers. Junior setter Alison Runk dished out a match-high 46 assists.
Karla Kucerkova, who hails from the Czech Republic, led American with a match-high 18 kills and was the only Eagle to notch double figures in kills. Setters Courtney Mulford (21 assists) and Sabrina Vasconcelos (17 assists) dished things out for American.
Temple dominated on offense hitting .415 while American hit.158. The Owls improved to 14-7 overall and the Eagles fell to 15-9. Temple resumes Atlantic 10 action on Friday, November 7 when it hosts Fordham at McGonigle Hall. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
