FIELD HOCKEY'S CONROY SELECTED THIRD TEAM ALL-AMERICAN AND DERVINIS AND RUTH SELECTED TO MID-ATLANTIC REGION TEAM

Conroy, who played in 1472 of a possible 1566 minutes in goal, had a 1.76 goals against average and was among the nation's leaders with a 181 saves. She also posted three shutouts and compiled a record of 10-11 in 21 starts. Earlier this month Conroy was selected to the 2003 All-Philadelphia Team. This season Conroy came within one game of tying the school record of four consecutive shutouts held by Kim Porter (1983) and Kim Lamdin-Ciarrocca (1985). She also earned the ECAC Goalkeeper of the Week and Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the week ending September 22.
Senior Haley Dervinis and sophomore Talia Ruth also received postseason honors, earning second team all-Mid-Atlantic Region team accolades.
Dervinis, who finished her career second all-time on the Owls' assists list with 42. She was Temple's leading scorer this season with 19 points on four goals and 11 assists. Dervinis also was named to the A-10 All-Conference, All-Tournament and All-Academic teams this season.
Ruth, who led the Owls in defensive saves with four. She also was tied for second on the team in assists (4) and recorded eight points on the season on two goals and four assists.
Temple finished second in the Atlantic 10 Conference with an overall record of 11-11.
