MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK CONTINUE WINNING WAYS AT PENN STATE

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University men's and women's track team continued their winning ways this weekend at the Penn State Invitational held in State College, Pa.

The women's 4X400 and 4X800 relay teams set season high Atlantic 10 records and qualified for the ECAC championships with times of 3:51.52 and 9:17.42 respectively. Junior Aderonke Adeniyi also set a team high in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.79. In the 200 meter dash, Samantha Porter placed 26th with a time of 25.50 while senior Marirose Roach placed 30th with a time of 25.61. In the 500 meter dash, freshman Aisha Raheem placed 12th with a time of 1:17.87 while teammate Ruby Amanze placed 17th with a time of 3:05.35 in the 1000 meter run.

Sophomore Rachel Clinton placed 11th in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.93 and sophomore Jessica Dunston placed 24th with a time of 9.11. In the long jump, senior Edith Lewis placed 14th with a distance of 5.44 meters.

Senior Robert Leite-Young led the way for the men's team, placing sixth and beating a personal best with a distance of 14.94 meters. Sophomore Dale Letterlough placed 32nd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.51 and Jonathon Albright placed 33rd in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.63.

Next up for the Owls is the Rhode Island Invitational this weekend, February 8, 2003 in Kingston, Rhode Island.
