3.25.03 | Baseball
The Temple Owls came from behind with a run in the eighth inning to tie the game and a Jason Conner single scored Mike Weckenman with the winning run enabling Skip Wilson's club to take a 7-6 come-from-behind win over Villanova.
The Owls (3-13) got a three-run home run in the second inning off the bat of right fielder Pete Colon only to see Villanova battle back and take a 6-5 lead entering the bottome of the eighth.
Temple was able to push across the tying run in the home eighth and third baseman Mike Weckenman led off the ninth with a hit to set the dramatic stage for shortstop Jason Connor.
With the victory, the Owls advance to the second round of the Liberty Bell Classic.
The Owls continue non-conference play tomorrow, weather permitting, against Lehigh at Erny Field at 3:00 p.m.
