MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD HAVE STRONG SHOWING AT DELAWARE INVITATIONAL

PHILADELPHIA -- With a score of 107, the Temple University Men's Track and Field team placed fourth at the Delaware Invitational this past weekend, April 12, 2003. The team had a performer finish in the top two of every event in which they participated.

First place finishers in the invitational included Steven Johnson in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.03, David Jackson in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.42, Bryant Adams in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.06 and Robert Leite-Young in the triple jump with a score of 14.89 meters.

Jackson also placed second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.08 while Johnson placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.44. Freshman William Fisher placed third in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 11.10 and 22.54 respectively. Sophomore Brian Innis also brought home a fifth place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.26.

In the 110 meter hurdles, sophomore Jonathon Albright placed second with a time of 14.80 and placed fifth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.86. In the long jump, sophomore Dwayne Shaw placed second with a score of 6.55 meters while junior Kevin Kelly finished seventh with a score of 6.16 meters.

The Owl's 4X400 relay team placed fourth with a time of 3:23.80.
