GAVIN WHITE NAMED 2003 COACH OF THE YEAR BY THE SCHUYLKILL NAVY

PHILADELPHIA - Long-time Temple University crew coach Gavin White has been named the 2003 Coach of the Year by The Schuylkill Navy of Philadelphia. The Schuylkill Navy, established in 1858, is the governing body of the 10 rowing clubs of Boathouse Row.

White, who is in his 25th season as head coach at Temple, has guided Temple to 19 Dad Vail Regatta titles. Also involved with the sport's national teams, White recently guided the United States national team men's pair with coxswain to the gold medal at the World Championship at the 2003 World Rowing Championships in Milan, Italy in August.

The award will be presented to White at the Schuylkill Navy's Annual Dinner, February 28th, 2004. Lloyd Hall.

Cocktails 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Dinner at 7:00 PM.

The Dinner is sponsored by Kaschper Racing Shells and Mariner Insurance Co.

Tickets are $45; rowers under 30, $30.
