TEMPLE FENCING UNDEFEATED IN DUAL MEET

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple fencing team went undefeated in dual meet action at McGonigle Hall on Sunday, beating Fairleigh Dickinson 25-2, James Madison 25-2, Drew 23-4 and Rutgers 19-8.

Junior Jeanne Browne and senior Nerita Brumell led the way for the Owls; each finished the day 9-0 in foil competition. Sophomore Maryanne Forsythe also did not drop a bout all day and finished her foil action 8-0. Sophomore Jenna Remmert also added an undefeated record at 3-0 while freshman Leigh Adel-Arnold went 6-1 in foil competition.

Senior Aziza Hassan paced the sabre squad with a 7-0 record on the day while freshman Kaitlyn White added a 4-0 effort. Sophomore Keri Ecker went 8-1 and junior Nnennaya Okoro finished the day at 6-4 to round out the sabre action.

In epée action, senior Sara Forsythe dropped only one bout for a record of 11-1 while senior Stephanie Sargent went 9-3 on the day. Freshman Rachel Eschenbach finished her epée action with a 6-6 record.

The Owls will next host Haverford, Stevens and Johns Hopkins in another dual meet at McGonigle Hall on January 31 starting at 11 a.m.
