VOLLEYBALL OPENS CONFERENCE SCHEDULE WITH 3-0 WIN OVER DUQUESNE

PITTSBURGH, PA - Freshman Yue Liu topped all peformers with a match-high 18 kills and senior setter Alison Runk added a match-high 48 assists to lead the Temple volleyball team past Duquesne, 3-0 in the Owls' Atlantic 10 Conference opener on October 1. The game scores were 30-22, 30-27 and 31-29 for Temple which improved to 4-11 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Freshmen Christina DeMarco (12 kills), senior Zhen Jia Liu and Ying Sun Ling (10 kills) also had strong outings for the Owls.
Stephanie Hopkins led Duquesne (7-9, 1-1 A-10) with 14 kills. She was joined in double figures by Diana Wuebker with 12 kills. Setter Krsitin Garnett had 40 assists for the Dukes.
Temple's conference road trip continues with a visit to Washington, D.C. to take on the George Washington Colonials on Saturday, October 2. Match time is 4:00 p.m.
