YUE LIU EARNS THIRD A-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Yue Liu picked Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors on Monday after posting three straight double-doubles to lead the Owls to three conference victories. It is the third time she has been recognized this season.
Liu averaged 5.6 kills and 4.2 digs per contest as Temple dropped only a single game in wins over La Salle (3-1), Fordham (3-0) and Rhode Island (3-0). Against the Explorers, she recorded a match-high 25 kills and added a match-high 18 digs versus URI. For the week, the freshman hit .427 and added six service aces and five blocks.
She ranks second on the team in kills (221) and kills per game (3.20). Liu also ranks in the top 10 in the conference in hitting percentage (8th, .275) and kils per game (9th, 3.20).
Temple (9-13, 6-1 A-10) returns to action on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup with Villanova.
