YUE LIU NAMED A-10 VOLLEYBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Yue Liu was named Atlanic 10 Rookie of the Week for the stellar play this past weekend. Liu helped the Owls open Atlantic 10 Conference play at 2-0 with back-to-back league wins over Duquesne, 3-0 and George Washington 3-2.
Liu had 18 kills and 10 digs against Duquesne and followed that up with another double-double (20 kills and 17 digs in the George Washington match. She averaged 3.0 kills per game and 3.25 digs per game on the week, while hitting .265. Liu also had 10 kills and nine digs in Temple's non-conference loss to Georgetown in a match where she hit .308. This is the second A-10 Rookie of the Week honor for Liu who also won the award on 9/13.
Temple (5-12, 2-0 A-10) will host Dayton on Friday, October 8 at McGonigle Hall. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
