BALANCED EFFORT PROPELS OWLS TO SECOND AT URSINUS

COLLEGEVILLE, PA -- A strong showing from the relays and a balanced effort propelled Temple to a second place finish at the Ursinus Winter Invitational on Saturday. Freshman Rahmel Huffman won the high jump by clearing 6'5 1/2" and senior Jonathan Albright finished second in the 55m hurdles (7.72) to highlight the individual performances. The 4x200 relay won its event in a time of 1:34.05 and the 4x400 team placed second (3:23.78).
Other strong showings were produced by freshman Scott Facey in the 400m, who placed fourth in a time of 50.87. Junior Wendell Raulston finished third in the high jump (6'1 1/2") while sophomore Corey Simmons placed fourth in the triple jump (40'5").
Morgan State won the invitational with 110 points, followed by Temple (63), Mansfield (58), Widener (32) and Delaware State (30). The Owls are off until after the new year when they compete in the Delaware Invitational on Friday, January 7, 2005.
