ALBRIGHT LEADS OWLS AT SEASON OPENING JACK PYRAH INVITATIONAL

HAVERFORD, PA -- Senior Jonathan Albright won the 55m hurdles in an IC4A qualifying time of 7.65 to pace the Owls in their season opener at the Jack Pyrah Invitational. Albright also placed sixth in the 500m dash (1:07.80) at the invitational, which was hosted by Villanova and held at Haverford College.

Freshmen Anthony DeJesus and Rahmel Huffman had impressive debuts for Temple, winning the 800m (2:03.62) and high jump (6'4 3/4"), respectively. Junior David Jackson was a winner in the long jump with a leap of 21'5 1/2" and freshman Marcos Edgehill placed third in the 55m dash in a time of 6.58.

Other strong showings included Jackson placing fifth in the 55m (6.62), freshman Scott Facey earning fifth in the 300m (36.54), and the 4x400m relay placing third in a time of 3:28.62.

The Temple men's track team returns to the oval on Saturday at the Ursinus Classic.
