MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD COMPETES IN ARMORY COLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL

NEW YORK - An injury plagued Temple men's track and field team competed in the University Division at the New Balance Armory Collegiate Invitational a two-day meet held on Friday (Feb. 13) and Saturday (Feb.14). The meet, one of the largest in the nation, was won by Saint Augustine's College with a score of 74.50. Manhattan College placed second (48) and Duke finished third with 43 points.
Junior Dwayne Shaw competed in the long jump and the triple jump. Shaw leaped a team best 6.49 meters in the long jump. He also jumped 13.12 meters in the triple jump. Senior Craig Henry leaped a team best 13.23 meters in the triple jump and Corey Simmons leaped 5.72 meters. Chris Nelson crossed the tape in the 400-meters in 50.96. Steve Johnson posted a time of 23.10 in the 200 meters.
