"We are disappointed that we are unable to open the season up north in front of our fans but cancelling our first two games will give our grounds crew a couple of more weeks to get the field in great playing condition," said head baseball coach Skip Wilson.
The home opener against Philadelphia University has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 16th at 3:00 p.m. at Temple's Ambler Field. The home game against Maryland-Eastern Shore is rescheduled for Monday, March 29th at 3:00 p.m.
The baseball team will depart on Wednesday, March 3rd for Florida and will begin play at the Papa John Challenge down in Homestead, Fla. on Thursday night. First pitch is slated at 7:00 p.m. against Detroit Mercy. Head Coach Skip Wilson enters the 2004 season just six wins shy of 1,000 career victories.
The Owls will play an 11-game schedule down in the Sunshine State in a period of 11 days. Following the Detroit Mercy game, the Owls will take on national power Maine on Friday night, also at 7:00 p.m.
