The Pittsburgh Panthers jumped on Temple starter, Tim Andrel, early and often and went on to defeat the Owls, 16-2, in the Papa John Homestead Challenge on Monday night in South Florida.

The lone highlight for the Owls (3-2) came off the bat of shortstop Jason Connor (Norristown, PA/Kennedy-Kenrick) who hit his third home run in five games.

Panther (firstbaseman Tom Cashman led the way for the home club belting two three-run hom runs to register a career-high six RBI's in a game. Pittsburgh (4-2) starter Jeff Barnyak went five innings scattering six hits while picking up the win.

The Owls get a well deserved day off on Tuesday before heading back to the diamond to take on Sacred Heart in a 1:00 p.m. contest at the Papa John Homestead Challenge.
