MEN'S CREW WINS KNECHT CUP VARSITY EIGHT GRAND FINAL

COLLINGSWOOD, N.J. - The Temple men's crew defeated its closest competitor by over five seconds to capture the varsity eight grand final at the Knecht Cup, held April 17 and 18 on the Cooper River. The varsity eight finished in a time of 6:05.3 in the six team final with George Washington coming in second in a time of 6:10.7.
Temple also captured the men's second varsity four in a time of 7:22.6, beating out its lone competitor NY Maritime (7:58.7). The freshman novice four won its grand final, posting a time of 6:56.8. Army's A team (7:12.2) came in second in the six-team final. The Temple A was victorious in the varsity four final as well in a time of 6:43.6, edging UMass (6:45.9) and Temple B (6:51.1). The second varsity eight (6:20.5) finished a close second to Marist A (6:17.0).
Next up for Temple crew is the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta on May 7 and 8 on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia.
