BASEBALL GAME WITH ARMY POSTPONED

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Temple baseball game on Tuesday against Army up in West Point, New York has been postponed due to poor field conditions.

Heavy rain most of the day and evening led to the postponement.

Temple (17-15, 6-6) is scheduled to take on Villanova (23-16-1, 6-11) on Wednesday at Ambler Field. First pitch is slated at 3:30 p.m.

The Owls are currently tied for third place in the eastern division of the Atlantic 10 with St. Bonaventure. The two teams will meet this weekend in a crucial three-game series in Olean, New York. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at Noon and a single game on Sunday beginning at the same time. Rhode Island is on top in the east with a 13-2 record followed by Fordham at 8-7. The Owls will take on Fordham in another crucial three-game weekend series on May 15-16.

Dedication ceremonies are planned prior to the first game of the doubleheader at Noon on Saturday, May 15 and following the first game, Temple will honor head coach Skip Wilson for his 1,000th victory back on March 14th against Manhattan.

It will also be the fourth annual "Day in Centerfield" picnic which will also begin at 12:00 Noon.
