AMBLER, PA - Jason Adamek's three-run pinch hit homer and Mike Weckenman's first career save kept the Owls post-season hopes alive as the Owls salvaged a split in the doubleheader against Fordham on a very special afternoon at Temple's Ambler Field.

With the largest crowd ever to witness a baseball game at the Ambler campus, Fordham erupted for nine runs in the final two innings of the first game to take a 13-3 decision over the Owls.

In between games, the University honored head coach James "Skip" Wilson for winning his 1,000th career win against Manhattan back on March 14, 2004. With many of his former players on hand, "The Skipper" looked overwhelmed by the number of former players in attendance.

In the second game, Temple (21-24, 8-12) responded by coming back from a 3-2 deficit in the bottom of the sixth of the second game with the help of a three-run pinch hit home run by Jason Adamek to give the Owls a 5-3 lead heading into the final frame.

Fordham (23-24-1, 12-11) would come back to make a game of it but third baseman Mike Weckenman would retire Jeremy Borrgeios and catcher John Mollicone to end the game and pick up his first career save to keep the Owls playoff hopes alive.

The two teams will conclude their three-game series tomorrow with first pitch scheduled at Noon.
