VOLLEYBALL SPLITS MATCHES ON DAY TWO OF AMERIHOST CLASSIC

GREEN BAY, WI - Senior Zhen Jia Liu earned all-tournament team honors as the Temple volleyball team split its matches on day two of the Amerihost Classic on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on September 11. Liu recorded a career-high 29 kills in a tough five-game loss to IPFW and added 12 kills in a 3-0 win over host Wisconsin-Green Bay. The game scores were 27-30, 22-30, 30-22, 30-25 and 10-15 in the match against IPFW and 30-21, 30-23 and 34-32 in tournament finale.

Freshman Yue Liu continued her storng play as she recorded 17 kills against IPFW and a team-high 13 kills against Wisconsin-Green Bay. Setter Alison Runk had 56 assists in the IPFW match and 33 assists against Wisconsin-Green Bay.

IPFW had a trio of players with double-digit kill numbers, led by Fabiana Souza's 24. Cynara Martins and Lindsay Brammer each added 13 kills. Setter Ashlee Roth had a match-high 57 assists.

Leslie Kuhn and Jill Smits led UW-Green Bay with 10 kills apiece. Setter Betty Slinger also had 33 assists.

Temple improves to 2-4 on the season and will visit Delaware on September 14. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
