VOLLEYBALL AND FIELD HOCKEY TO HOST WEEKEND TOURNAMENTS

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team will opens its 2004 campaign by hosting the Hampton Inn/Kaepa Temple Classic at McGonigle Hall beginning on Friday, September 3. Match play gets underway at 4:00 p.m. with North Carolina taking on Western Michigan. The Owls are in action following that match when they face Ohio State at 7:00 p.m. The action continues on Saturday with a 9:30 a.m. match between Ohio State and North Carolina followed by a noon match between Temple and Western Michigan. Western Michigan then takes on Ohio State at 3:00 p.m. and the round robin concludes with the Owls battling the Tar Heels, scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start.
The Temple field hockey team looks to continue its hot start when it hosts the Temple Tournament beginning Saturday, September 4 at Geasey Field. Play begins with the 2-0 Owls facing American at 11:00 a.m. and continues with North Carolina taking on Iowa at 1:30 p.m. Then on Sunday, the tournament continues with the consolation game at 11:00 a.m. followed by the championship at 1:30 p.m.
