THIRD ANNUAL DAWN STALEY SCHOOL DAY TO BE HELD PRIOR TO ST. BONAVENTURE GAME ON THURSDAY

PHILADELPHIA- The Third Annual Dawn Staley School Day will be held this Thursday in conjunction with the women's basketball game against St. Bonaventure at 12 p.m. at the Liacouras Center. Over 4,000 school children are expected to attend the event, which will feature educational sessions and activities prior to the game's start time.
Temple Coach Dawn Staley will speak on the importance of "reading and literacy" to the numerous elementary and middle school students in attendance. In addition, Staley will be honored by Temple University for her success in the recent Olympic games and for her work in the community. The special pre-game activities will also include music, dancing, prizes, clowns, face painters and more.
The event will also feature brief lectures from Dr. Nelson of the Dawn Staley Foundation and CBS-3's Kathy Orr.
Doors open at 9:45 a.m. and the festivities will commence at 10 a.m. and end right before tip-off.
The Temple women are currently 11-3 overall and 3-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
