JACKSON PACES OWLS AT GREAT DANE CLASSIC

NEW YORK, NY -- Junior David Jackson led the Temple charge with a fifth place finish (6.47) in the 55m dash as the Owls finished 11th at the Great Dane Classic on Sunday. The time was a season best for Jackson, who was competing just around the corner from his Amityville, N.Y. home. Held at the Armory Track and Field Center, the event was hosted by Albany with Monmouth taking top team honors.

Freshman Scott Facey also had an impressive showing. Another Long Island native, Facey ran a season best time of 22.50 to place seventh in the 200m. He also placed 17th in the 500m (1:07.42.)

Junior William Wacken ran a time of 1:59.45 to finish ninth in the 800m and Wendell Raulston cleared 6'1 1/4" to tie for fifth in the high jump.

Monmouth won the team title with 118 points, followed by host Albany (106), Seton Hall (77), Rider (73) and Long Island (72).

The Owls return to action at the Princeton Relays on Saturday, January 22.
