WOMEN TRAVEL TO #25 RICHMOND FOR ATLANTIC 10 MATCH-UP SUNDAY

PHILADELPHIA- Temple (14-3, 6-0 A-10), fresh off its 11th-straight win, travels to Virginia on Sunday for a A-10 match-up against West Division powerhouse #25 Richmond (14-2, 5-1 A-10). The Owls are looking for a program record tying 12th consecutive victory. Game time is set for 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

The Owls took home their 11th straight victory on Thursday night, a 69-43 win over the Fordham University Rams. Cynthia Jordan led Temple with 20 points, going 3-4 from the three-point line. Temple, who has not lost a game since Dec. 4, improves to 14-3 overall and 6-0 in the Atlantic 10. This is TU's longest winning streak since the team won 11 in a row during the 1989 season. The 2004-05 squad is on track to break the record for most consecutive wins, 12, which was set during the 1923-24 season. Candice Dupree finished the game with 14 points and nine rebounds, just one board shy of her eighth double-double. Kamesha Hairston also netted in double figures, scoring 10 points. Lady Comfort had an outstanding day under the basket, grabbing seven rebounds and one steal in nine minutes of action.

Dupree leads the way for TU with 15.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game to pace three Owls in double figures. She is followed by Jordan (12.7 ppg, 4.41 apg), and Hairston (11.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg). Moore is averaging 5.8 rpg.

The Owls return home to take on A-10 rivals George Washington on Thursday, January 27 at 7 p.m. and Xavier on Sunday, January, 30. The Xavier game will be broadcast on Comcast SportsNet at 12 p.m.

Despite a career-high 20 points from Kelly Roche, the #25 University of Richmond Spiders fell to George Washington 69-57 on January 19. After suffering their first conference loss, the Spiders fall to 14-2, 5-1 in the A-10 while the Colonials improve to 11-5, 4-1 in the league. Junior Saona Chapman tallied 13 points.

The Spiders are led by Kate Flavin, who is averaging a A-10 leading 17.3 ppg and a team-best 8.6 rpg. Chapman is second on the team with 11.8 ppg and leads in assists (76), while Christina Campion rounds out double figure scoring with 10.4 ppg.
