MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES 13TH AT A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple men's cross country finished 13th out of 14 teams while competing in its first Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship in 20 years on a chilly Saturday morning at Belmont Plateau. The Owls, running in their first season of competition since 1985, topped St. Bonaventure by 19 points to secure its position.

Freshman Adin Mickle again led the Owl harriers, finishing first for the team and 95th overall in a time of 27:32.8. Junior Dave D'Adderio ran second for Temple and 114th overall while freshman Jim Waddington, senior Matt Kobialka and freshman Dan Bezotsky followed closely behind, placing 119th, 120th and 122nd, respectively.

Duquesne captured its first-ever men's title with sophomore Tom Slosky finishing fourth overall in a time of 24:52.0. La Salle Junior Sean Quigley became the Explorers' second-ever individual champion as he cruised through the 8K course in a time of 24:28.9, the third-fastest mark in the 28-year history of the men's Championship. La Salle (55 points), which was vying for its fifth consecutive A-10 title, finished second to the Dukes (44).

Charlotte placed third in its inaugural season in the Atlantic 10 with 74 points, followed by Saint Joseph's (111), Richmond (155), Massachusetts (167), Xavier (184), Dayton (185), Fordham (198), George Washington (292), Saint Louis (310), Rhode Island (334), Temple (434), and St. Bonaventure (453).
