ZHEN JIA LIU NAMED OWLSPORTS.COM ATHLETE OF MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER

PHILADELPHIA- Senior volleyball player Zhen Jia Liu has been honored as the Owlsports.com Athlete of the Month for the month for September.
A 2004 First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, Zhen Jia Liu has been one of the major driving forces behind Temple's success this season. The Owls, who were picked to finish first in the A-10 East division by a preseason vote of the Conference's head coaches, are currently 11-8 overall and 4-1 in A-10 play. The senior captain leads the team and is ranked second in the A-10 in kills (299), averaging 4.33 per game. She also leads the team with a .278 hitting percentage and is third in digs with 175.
Liu has been honored in two of the three tournaments that the Owls have participated in thus far this season. She was named to the Hofstra Asics/Invitational All-Tournament Team as well as the Rutgers Embassy Suites Invitational Team, in which she led Temple to a 3-1 performance.
