ZHEN JIA LIU EARNS DOUBLE-DOUBLE ON SENIOR DAY WIN

PHILADELPHIA-Senior captain Zhen Jia Liu earned a double double with 12 kills and 10 digs to allow Temple to finish the 2005 regular season with a 3-0 win over Fordham. The Owls, who have won eight straight, take a 22-9 overall record and an 11-2 Conference mark into the 2005 Atlantic 10 Tournament, held next weekend at the University of Rhode Island.
Temple may have won all three games, but it was not without a fight, as the Rams kept it close throughout the match. The Owls took game one, 30-27 and games two and three 30-28.
Patricia Vernon was second on the team with 11 kills and just two errors for a .391 hitting percentage. Christina DeMarco chipped in with six kills and a match-high four blocks, while Ying Sun Ling totaled 13 digs.
Senior Danielle Bablich garnered three kills in her final home game as an Owl. Setter Maira Mogollon dished 31 assists in the win.
Next up for the Owls are the Musketeers of Xavier in the 2005 Atlantic 10 Tournament on November 18.
