#21/19 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO PENN FOR BIG FIVE MATCH-UP

PHILADELPHIA-#21/19 Temple (3-0) travels to the historic Palestra on Tuesday night for a match-up against the 1-0 Quakers at 7 p.m. TU is riding a three game winning streak after defeating the visiting Drexel Dragons, 66-54, in the Owls' home opener on Saturday night. Tonight's game can be heard live on Penn's radio station, WXPN, 88.5 FM as well as via the Quaker's athletic website, www.pennathletics.com.
The Owls coasted to their 13th consecutive win on their home court when they defeated the Dragons on Saturday. The team boasted a.490 shooting percentage from the field and were 50% from long-range. All-America candidate Candice Dupree led all players in scoring with 21 points while posting 10 rebounds for her second straight double-double. Complimenting Dupree's offensive efforts, the Owls got eight points and six rebounds from Kamesha Hairston while senior Khadija Bowens added six points and dished three assists.
Dupree leads the Owls in virtually every statistical category, averaging 17.3 ppg and11.3 rpg. Hairston is second with 10 ppg and 4 rpg.
Penn started off its season with a dramatic overtime victory over Lehigh, 76-73 on Friday night. With 0.6 seconds left in regulation and the score still tied, Lehigh missed two free throws to give Penn a second chance in overtime. The Quakers outscored the Mountain Hawks, 9-6 in the extra frame to earn the win. Joey Rhoads scored a game and career-high of 26 points and added five assists while Monica Naltner went 8-of-15 from the field for 18 points. Senior Jennifer Fleischer led the team with 10 rebounds on the night.

This is the 59th meeting for Penn and Temple. Temple leads the all-time series, 41-17 and won the last outing, 63-46 on Dec. 8, 2004.
