WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SIGNS FOUR IN THE EARLY SIGNING PERIOD

Voted one of USA Today's top juniors in 2005 and one of the top sophomores in 2004, Stone led Martin Luther King High School to a 24-1 record and a state runner-up finish in 2005. After averaging 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 5.2 blocks and 1.5 steals per game, she was rewarded with All-State, All-City and All-Metro honors during her junior season. A Detroit News Class A All-State Second Team member in 2004, Stone helped King to a perfect 25-0 record and a state title during her sophomore season, averaging 17.8 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 4.8 bpg and 4.3 spg. In the summer of 2005, Stone was a member of the USA Youth Development Festival White team that went 2-3 and earned the silver medal. Stone posted a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds in the gold medal game against the Blue team and had eight points and 16 boards versus Blue during preliminary play. She finished the summer ranked 16th among all 2005 Festival participants for scoring (7.0 ppg), tied for second for rebounding (8.8 rpg), first for offensive rebounds per game (5.2) and ninth for defensive rebounds per game (3.6).

6-2 and 6-0 forwards Harris and James led Phenix City to a 28-5 record last season. Co-captains for the 2005-06 season, both have been valuable members of the Central Phenix City team for the past three years. Named the Devils' Most Outstanding Rebounder in 2004 and 2005, Harris averaged 14.0 ppg and 18.0 rpg last season and was named to the AHSAA 6A Area South State of Alabama All-Tournament Team. Harris received the team's Academic Award in her freshman season. A two year captain, James averaged 12.0 ppg and 12.0 rpg last season. A two-time Devil Offensive Player of the Year, she was selected to the Shaw Christmas Tournament All-Tournament Team. James garnered Columbus Ledger Honorable Mention honors after the 2004-2005 season.

Eaddy, 5-6, had one of the best seasons in River Hill girl's basketball history, averaging 22 points, 6 rebounds, 9.1 steals and 4.1 assists per game in 2004-05. She led the Hawks to their first 25-victory season and first state tournament appearance after going undefeated in regular season play. The 2005 Washington Post Howard County Player of the Year award, Eaddy finished one rebound shy of a quadruple-double by recording 18 points, 15 steals,10 assists and 9 rebounds in her final game, a 68-59 loss in the Maryland state semifinals.

The Temple women's basketball team will add four players to its 2006-07 roster after signing four players in the early signing period. The incoming class features Jasmine Stone, a 6-3 forward from Detroit, Michigan; forwards Alesha Harris and Raven James from Central Phenix City High School in Phenix City, Alabama; and guard Lakeisha Eaddy from Columbia, Maryland.
