PHILADELPHIA - Maira Mogollon notched her first double-double of the season to help Temple defeat the visiting Penn Quakers, 3-1, on Tuesday night.  The junior setter dished a match-high 39 assists and earned 10 digs to give Temple its 20th win of the season.  The Owls, who have clinched the A-10 East Division title and will meet Xavier in the semifinal round on November 18, improve to 20-9 overall and 9-2 in A-10 play.

Penn used a .355 hitting percentage to take the first game, 30-27, but dropped off dramatically in games two, three and four, hitting just .048, .079 and .093, respectively.  Temple easily took games two and three 30-19 and 30-17 but struggled a bit in game four, giving the Quakers a chance to force a game five.  Temple was able to finish, scoring six straight points down the stretch for the 30-25 result.

Zhen Jia Liu led Temple with 15 kills, while Patricia Vernon and Christina DeMarco chipped in with 11 a piece.  DeMarco had just one error.  Yue Liu rounded out the double figure kills with 10.  Ying Sun Ling earned 23 digs as the Owls' defensive specialist.

Temple travels to La Salle on Thursday for an A-10 match-up at 7 p.m.
