PHILADELPHIA--The Temple women's fencing team fell to #8 Penn and # 9 Princeton at Penn on Wednesday. Both matches were close with results of 14-13 against Penn and 15-12 against
Freshman Brianna Ferrara led the epee squad with a 5-1 finish on the day. Fellow freshman Marla Nacey ended with a 2-4 record. Sophomore Rachel Eschenbach and freshman Joanna Drews finished 1-4 and 0-1 respectively.
Junior foil fencer Jenna Remmert led her squad with a 4-2 record. Senior Jeanne Browne ended 3-1 and junior Maryanne Forsythe 1-4. Freshman Samantha Myles finished 1-2.
Both senior Nnenna Okoro and freshman Kristine Jones finished 3-3 for the sabre squad. Junior Amanda Gerwer ended with a 2-1 record and junior Keri Ecker finished 0-3.
The team will host a meet this Saturday, February 12 where competition will include four schools that are ranked in the top seven in the country.
