MEN'S TRACK FINISHES FIFTH AT THOMSON INVITATIONAL

NEWARK, DE -- Junior David Jackson won two events and qualified for the IC4A Championships in the 60m dash as Temple finished fifth at the Thomson Invitational, hosted by the University of Delaware. The Amityville, N.Y. native ran a season-best time of 6.94 to win the 60m and also won the 200m dash in a time of 22.85. Senior Jonathan Albright and junior William Wacker also captured golds in the 60m hurdles and the 500m, respectively.

Albright's time of 8.22 was an IC4A qualifier, as was Wacker's season-best time of 1:05.13 in the 500m. Senior Steven Johnson placed second in the 200m dash (22.89), while freshmen Marcos Edghill and Travis Shelton tied for third in the 60m (7.13). Freshman Marquise Stancil also placed third in the 500m (1:07.90).

Lehigh captured the team title in the nine-team field, followed by host Delaware, La Salle, Villanova, and Temple.

The Owls return to action on Saturday at the Atlantic 10 Championships at Rhode Island's Mackal Fieldhouse. The men's events begin at 9:30 a.m.
