NUNAN NAMED A-10 CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple freshman Frank Nunan has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Nunan batted .583 (7-for-12) with three doubles and five RBI and drove in the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning to give the Owls their first A-10 series victory with a 11-7 win at Saint Joseph's on Sunday.
Nunan, who is riding a team-high nine game hitting streak, opened the week with a 2-for-4 performance on Wednesday in a 7-5 loss at Towson. He then went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday's game at St. Joe's and doubled with two RBI in the first game on Sunday with the Hawks.
The outfielder erupted on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI to complete his award-winning week. Nunan leads Temple in hitting (.462) and has four doubles and seven RBI to his credit. He shares the award with Fordham's Tom Davis.
Temple (10-23, 3-9 Atlantic 10) returns to the diamond on Wednesday against Villanova at Ambler Field. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
