ALBRIGHT WINS 110M HURDLES AS TEMPLE PLACES SEVENTH AT A-10S

RICHMOND, VA -- Senior Jonathan Albright won the 110m hurdles (14.42) and finished second in the 400m hurdles (55.83) as Temple team placed seventh at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Richmond on Sunday. Albright narrowly defeated LaeJon Brooks by 0.01 seconds to capture his the110m hurdles title. His time of 14.32 in the preliminaries was an NCAA East Regional qualifier, as well.
Junior David Jackson also had a strong performances in the 100m and 200m dashes. He qualified for the IC4A Championships in both events and placed third in the 200m (21.58) and sixth in the 100m (10.65).
Freshman Scott Facey finished sixth in the 400m (49.27) and the 4x100 relay was second in a time of 42.18.
In field events from yesterday's competition, senior Steven Johnson placed second in the long jump and Andrew Fries finished third in the javelin.
Rhode Island won its unprecendented fifth straight team title, edging La Salle, 198-183.5. Duquesne placed third with 159 points, while Fordham finished fourth with 63 points, followed by Richmond (62.5), Massachusetts (61), Temple (60), Saint Joseph's (57), and Xavier (7).
Several athletes will compete at the IC4A Championships on Friday and Saturday at Princeton.
