IMZIR, TURKEY - Senior Candice Dupree averaged 7.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in seven games as Team USA took home it sixth gold medal in the 2005 World University Games. The United States ended with a perfect 7-0 record, outscored its opponents by 43.4 ppg, and shot a stellar 56.2 percent from the field.

Dupree's performance was solid throughout the Games, highlighted by a 16 point, five rebound tally in the U.S.'s 109-57 win over Taiwan. She helped her team to a 118-67 win over Russia in the semi-final round by notching 10 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block.

After leading her team and the Atlantic 10 in blocks during the 2004-05 season, Dupree continued to dominate on the International stage. The 6-2 center led her team of All-American all-stars with seven blocks and was among the squad leaders with nine steals. Dupree also continued her consistent shooting from the field, making 55% of her shots.

Dupree, a 2004-05 Honorable Mention All-American, has been selected as a pre-season candidate for both the Wooden Trophy and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA's) State Farm Wade Trophy Division I Player of the Year award.

Temple begins the 2005-06 season on November 11 when it travels to Oregon to compete in the University of Oregon Invitational. The Owls will take on Philadelphia rival Drexel University in their home opener at the Liacouras Center on November 19.
