PHILADELPHIA - The Temple volleyball team (10-7, 3-0 A-10) continued to dominate its A-10 opponents, taking down the La Salle Explorers (6-9, 0-3 A-10), 3-0, on Tuesday night in McGonigle Hall.  The Owls, who are on a six-game winning streak and 7-0 on their home court, defeated the Explorers 30-26, 30-20 and 30-17.

Yue Liu notched a double double with 12 kills and a team high 12 digs, while Zhen Jia Liu paced all players with 15 kills and just three errors.  She added 11 digs.  Reining A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week Patricia Vernon contributed nine kills and three block assists.  Christina DeMarco totaled a match-high seven block assists to help Temple earn 7.5 team blocks to LaSalle's three.

The Explorers led early in game one but the Owls battled back and tied the score at 20 before taking a slight lead.  The Explorers tied the game again at 23 but Temple was able to pull away for the 30-26 win.  Game two was much like game one, with La Salle jumping out to an early lead, but Temple refused to back down and took a commanding 26-18 lead after scoring seven straight points.  Still reeling from two straight wins, the Owls dominated game three 30-17.

Brittany Hanley was the only Explorer to earn double digit kills with 12. Carolyn Judge earned a match-high 15 digs as the team's libero.

Temple goes back on the road this weekend with games against Charlotte on Friday at 7 p.m. and George Washington on Saturday at 7 p.m.
