BUFFALOE'S SCHOOL RECORD PACES TEMPLE AT NYC GOTHAM CUP

NEW YORK, NY - Freshman Bryce Buffaloe set a school record in the weight throw as Temple placed 16th at the NYC Gotham Cup at the New Balance Track and Field Center on Friday. The rookie, who also was 13th in the shot put, posted a distance of 52'0" to finish fourth and break the school record set by Spencer Ellisi in 1998.
Senior Steven Johnson also performed well in multiple events, placing seventh in the long jump (22'8) and 18th in the 60m (7.11). The 4x800 relay of freshman Jim Waddington, sophomore Anthony DeJesus, freshman Mitch Stroh and senior Matt Kobialka finished ninth in a season-best time of 8:13.13.
Freshman Jason Sullivan competed in the 400m for the first time this season after strong showings in the 500m. He was tenth in a time of 50.96.
Villanova (42) defeated Haverford (24), Albany (21), Iona (18) and Lincoln (16) to earn top team honors. Iona's Richard Kiplagat ran 3:57.40 mile, setting a new Armory Collegiate record. It is the fastest time in the world tthis year.
Temple returns to the Armory on Friday for the Albany Great Dane Classic.
