PARED DOWN VERSION OF MEN'S INDOOR TRACK TEAM TAKES TO BIG APPLE

NEW YORK, NY - A pared down version of the Temple men's indoor track and field team traveled to the New Balance Track and Field Center for the second straight Friday. Despite not scoring at the Albany Great Dane Classic, the Owls posted several strong showings.
Senior Steven Johnson ran the 200m for the first time this season and finished in 22.85, just 0.65 off IC4A qualifying standards. He finished 25th in an impressive field.
Freshman Jason Sullivan was the only other Temple competitor, finishing 13th in the 500m (1:07.44). It was his fastest time since running a 1:06.43 at the Princeton Relays in December.
Rutgers (134) won the team competition, followed by Albany (109), Monmouth (90.5), Southern Connecticut State (73.5) and Northeastern (51).
The Cherry and White heads to the Terrapin Invitational on Saturday in Landover, Md.
