TREDINNICK NAMED ASSISTANT BASEBALL COACH AT TEMPLE

PHILADELPHIA -- John Tredinnick, who played for two years under new Temple coach Rob Valli at Gloucester County College, has been named an assistant baseball coach at Temple University. A 2004 graduate of Drexel University, Tredinnick played one season for the Dragons before the program was disbanded. He will work with the hitters and catchers.
"John has always been an outstanding student of the game," Valli said. "We're excited about the youth and energy he brings to our coaching staff."
A native of West Collingswood, N.J. (Haddon Twp. High School), Tredinnick was a two-time all-region selection at GCC and helped the Roadrunners to consecutive NJCAA College World Series appearances in 2001 and 2002. He was a member of the All-World Series team in 2001.
"I'm pleased to join a program that has as much support as Temple does," Tredinnick said. "We have a terrific schedule and it should be an exciting year."
The Owls open their 2006 campaign on February 24 at LSU.
