CANDICE DUPREE NAMED OWLSPORTS.COM ATHLETE OF MONTH FOR DECEMBER

PHILADELPHIA- Candice Dupree has been named the Owlsports.com Athlete of the Month for the month of December. This is the second straight Athlete of the Month honor for Dupree, who led Temple to a 6-0 start, its best since the 1981-82 season last month.
Dupree averaged 14.8 ppg and 11 rpg in leading nationally ranked Temple to big wins over then #15 Georgia and city rival Villanova. Against #1 Tennessee, Dupree played a solid game with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 steals and 3 assists, but it was her performance in the loss to Stonybrook that has been her season best. The senior All-America candidate had 23 points, including 20 in the second half, and added 16 boards, 3 blocks, 3 assists and two steals. She also averaged 2.6 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.4 steals per game in the month of December.
Temple is currently ranked #24/23 and has posted a 8-3 overall record.
