Mickle Leads Owls to Fifth Place Showing at Delaware

NEWARK, DE - Sophomore Adin Mickle completed the 8k course at White Clay Creek Park in a time of 27:01.91 to finish 11th in the field of 115 runners at the Delaware Invitational on Saturday. Temple finished fifth out of 14 teams in its final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championship on October 28.
Freshman Travis Gerhardt was the next TU runner to cross the finish line in a time of 27:15.11, good for 15th overall. He was followed by freshman Dan Rinehart (24th, 27:39.70), sophomore Jim Waddington (31st, 27:54.86) and senior Dave D'Addario (40th, 28:10.58).
UMES' Alfred Singoei won the individual title in a time of 26:17.19, while host Delaware (64) edged American (78) for the team championship. Hofstra (102), West Chester (116) and Temple (119) rounded out the top five.
The Cherry and White will look to improve upon last season's 13th place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday, October 28 in Pittsburgh, PA.
