Temple Defeats Charlotte In Three

PHILADELPHIA - Temple continued its momentum from last night's conference win over George Washington, defeating Charlotte, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at McGonigle Hall. TU won the match with game scores of 30-26, 30-27, 30-25 at McGonigle Hall. Yue Liu continued her on-court leadership with 15 kills, 10 digs, and four blocks.
Sophomore Patricia Vernon played a consistent role for the Owls at the net, racking up 13 kills and three blocks. Junior Ying Sun Ling contributed 10 of TU's 51 kills, while junior Christina DeMarco added six kills, one service ace, and four blocks. Freshman Glory Epelle hascontinured to improve her game, contributing six kills and one block against the 49ers.
Also coming off a conference win last night, the 49ers played tough with Cori Dayton leading the way with 16 kills and 12 digs. Jessica Oldenberg and Claire Crumpton both added 10 kills to the team's 45 kills.
Temple advances to 5-3 in the Atlantiic 10 Conference and 12-10 overall, while Charlotte drops to 15-9 overall and 3-4 in the A-10.
The Cherry and White travel to Army for their next match, Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m.
